It was fun working together on this! Thank you for caring about what is going on with #LAAlliance. Elizabeth Mitchell’s response to you was slightly unhinged. Didn’t she get $250k for “successfully” suing the City, despite the City settling with them? I don’t understand how a settlement gets to throw in legal expenses for the plaintiffs, but I guess anything goes. Did the intervenors get paid? & the City + County’s attorneys got paid, I’m sure…

Likewise! We were trying to figure that out yesterday but didn’t come up with a record of it. They are really not happy with me for digging into his memoir and mad at Wizmann for the dispute. Folks, don’t lie in your memoir and don’t talk about legal disputes where you agreed to be silent! Someone is always getting paid!

LA ALLIANCE’s website says they started fundraising in like early 2019 & we know they started doing thatt at the Hotel Alexandria. Why did Elizabeth Mitchell need $250k if she was getting paid by LA Alliance? Were they paying other counsel? Making bribes??

The group is poorly funded. They don’t do anything but this lawsuit. I pulled their Form 990 from last year and they’re clearly running out of funding soon.

https://sfvba.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Valley-Lawyer-June-08.pdf interesting $250k is the threshold for embezzlement…also the guy who writes this article is tied to them (link #2 above)

Our government on both sides have been bought and paid for by AIPAC and Israel. I'm so very disappointed in our President for his blind support and financing of Israel. He is making it almost impossible to vote for him in this 2024 election. At first I told myself he will does not deserve my vote and this will be the first election in a long time that I sit out. I have since decided that even though he has shown his true colors and doesn't deserve my vote or anyone else's vote. Sadly it comes down to him or Donald Trump and with project 2025 in the works we have to vote our future and not our morals, heart etc.

Thank you so much for seeing this local homelessness issue in a global context.

As an unhoused person in Los Angeles who has never been to either place, my heart is constantly heavy with the pain of displacement and dislocation inflicted upon Gaza by American machinery like Caterpillar bulldozer and the constant losses of lives, homes and belonging(s) happening to the people of Gaza with assistance from Los Angeles County money.

The American-branded violence of “sweeps”, gentrification and colonization is felt domestically by unhoused/internally displaced people daily. We all, at the very least, have blood on our hands. #freeGaza

You hit the nail on the head. What the people of Gaza have endured since way before October 7th but also after a October 7th is one of the most brutal genocides.
